Grupo Pilon

Initially formed in 1986 in Luxembourg by Cape Verdean immigrants, Grupo Pilon quickly became beloved representatives of the Kriolu diaspora. Almost forty years later, bandleader Antonino Furtado Gomes and what remain of the original quintet are slowly piecing back together the puzzle of their once mighty outfit from an unlikely pocket of Europe. This performances is Grupo Pilon’s first in England, a much anticipated debut by living legends.

Ichigo Evil are the combination of Bristol jazz-proggers The Evil Usses and Japanese inventor and mad scientist Ichi. Ichigo Evil make a kind of undefinable, instrumental, protopunk, jazz not jazz, noise that reaches extreme euphoric moments on stage.

The Go! Team

The Go! Team have long been the UK’s foremost purveyors of pure unadulterated joy. A shapeshifting band built around mastermind Ian Parton, The Go! Team pull together the double-Dutch chants, emphatic drums, Charlie Brown pianos, the screeching guitars of Sonic Youth, Bollywood strings, 70s theme show horns and old-school hip-hop to create an emphatic and totally idiosyncratic sound. At this show, Parton will be showcasing this array of influences in a DJ set.
